Safety First
Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 1–4. Coach Jared's lessons don't just teach swimming — they teach survival. Every session builds real water safety skills that could save a life.

Swim lessons are essential — but they're one layer of protection. Here's what every pool-owning family should know.
Install a 4-sided pool fence
A 4-sided fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate is the single most effective drowning prevention measure for home pools.
Never leave children unattended
Designate a "water watcher" at every pool gathering — someone whose sole job is watching the water, not socializing.
Learn CPR
Every parent and caregiver should know CPR. In a drowning emergency, immediate CPR can mean the difference between life and death.
Remove floaties and arm bands
Inflatable floaties give a false sense of security. They are not life-saving devices and can actually increase risk.
Teach "touch supervision"
For non-swimmers and young children, stay within arm's reach at all times — not just nearby.
Know the signs of drowning
Drowning is often silent. Watch for: head low in water, mouth at water level, eyes glassy or closed, vertical body position, no kicking.
Keep rescue equipment poolside
A reaching pole, life ring, and phone should always be within reach of your pool.
Enroll in swim lessons early
The earlier children learn to swim, the better. Lessons starting at 12 months build water comfort and safety skills that last a lifetime.
